The KBG Foundation is actively seeking to connect with researchers who are currently or are interested in studying KBG syndrome, mutations in the ANKRD11 gene, the genesis of the mutation and any potential treatments. Our Seed Funding Grant Program is intended to expedite research projects by supporting investigative research into KBG syndrome and ANKRD11 or otherwise enabling projects exploring KBG syndrome and potential treatments to move forward. For the fiscal years 2022 and 2023, the Foundation will award up to three grants of up to $10,000 each year. Application is open to certified researchers with demonstrated interest in and capability to advance the understanding and treatment of KBG syndrome. Awards will be issued with 50% of the funds up front with the remainder issued after six months or the completion of the project, whichever comes first.
Please note: The KBG Foundation will expend $10,000 total per grant. Due to currency exchange rates or financial institution fees, the amount the researcher receives may be less than the full amount.

DownloadDr. Lyon will be furthering his study of how seizures affect the cognitive and behavioral functioning of people with KBG syndrome over time, as well as the influence of psychiatric comorbidity.
Dr. Voronova’s research aims to identify the crucial time window where the function of ANKRD11 is critical for brain development. This lays the groundwork for potential therapeutics for KBG syndrome focusing on the ANKRD11 function rescue.
Granted for his work toward developing preclinical zebrafish models. His work is an important step on the path toward identifying drugs for treatment of KBG syndrome.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our program needs and advance a greater understanding of KBG syndrome. Your generous donation will fund groundbreaking research!
